now that i’ve started racing again, pretty much every weekend, i’ve fallen into a pattern. sunday i race, monday i see how the legs are, spin them out, do around 30 miles, tuesday i rest a bit because my legs start to complain the day after the day after the rest, wednesday or thursday i do either a series of repetitions or a hard like-for-like ride, friday i soft pedal like a cyclo-tourist and get overtaken by triathletes and mountain bikers, saturdays i lie down.
the only problem is the lack of base miles. this isn’t such a concern at the moment, but i will have to keep it ticking over with a couple of longer rides each month.
currently i feel better than i did this time last season but not as good as i did when i was ‘flying’, which is about right.
