Race day routine

1. Wake up at shrill sound of alarm

2. Eat scrambled egg on toast, struggle with absence of motivation, leave for race

3. Come back in to collect forgotten things at least twice

4. Drive through clement, windless outskirts of Bristol

5. Encounter arctic snowfields of Warmley

6. Arrive at HQ, prepare to race in arctic conditions

7. Race cancelled by sensible organiser, turn around and head home

8. Arrive home, empty car of everything except the two bags of race gear left at the HQ

9. Make embarrassing call to organiser to collect stuff left behind at cancelled race

10. Do gardening things in the balmy sunshine

11. Watch professionals ride through, then avoid snow at Milan-San Remo.

  1. The fact that you need an alarm sounds promising. You don’t have a small human alarm keeping you awake all night?

Also sounds like you do have the fatherhood fog creeping in though. I forgot where I put my memory a few years ago.
