I’m coming to the end of a fairly substantial block of training. This week I’ve done 230 miles; at least double my usual average. The week has had a gentle repetition; i rode to Cheltenham on Monday, rode back on Tuesday, headed there again on Saturday and back today.
With any luck it will help me find some degree of form. The return journey today was assisted by a saucy tailwind; I headed up Fiddler’s Elbow, Selsey and Stouts Hill and still somehow pulled out an average speed of 21mph for the 45 miles. It’s probably the quickest I’ve travelled over that kind of distance outside of a race; such are the joys of a straight out ride.
This week *might* see me turn a pedal in anger…. fingers crossed.
